UPDATE: September 30

Well, there hasn't been done this past week due to the rain. That has pushed things back a week.

Everything that was supposed to happen this week will now happen next week and some of those things include paver installation from the zig-zag line about mid-way on the lot to the Main Street curb.

The precast caps along the art pedestals, seat walls  and curbing will begin to be installed starting on Tuesday and installation of irrigation systems should begin soon. In the photo below, you should be able to see the color concrete band in the surrounding the center that was installed last week.

UPDATE: September 24

This past week we've seen the project taking shape as curb and gutters, seat wall, and several of the lighting bases installed.

The general contractor, ValleyCrest, has indicated the project is on track for completion in late October. Because of the drought, the landscaping and especially the trees may be installed later in the year.

In the week ahead, we should start seeing the corner curbing installed, more of the lighting bases, some of the granite curbing, and art pedestals. Pavers will begin to be installed as well.

UPDATE: September 19, 2010

On Thursday and Friday of last week some curb and gutter work was done at the entrances along N Lombard and the driveway to the east of the project, as you can see from the photos.

This week, it is anticipated that a color band between the asphalt and pavers will be installed, they will install the base for the pavers, and the bases for the lighting will be set. Additionally, we should see some work additional work on the seat wall close to E Main Street.

A note about parking: Beginning September 27th, the on-street parking along the front of the project area will be closed while they install pavers to the curb.

UPDATE: September 14, 2010

Most of the work that's going on right now is underground, electrical conduits, irrigation, plumbing and a couple of the light poles have been installed. From here on out, we will provide at least a once a week update on either Thursday afternoon or Friday morning.
