UPDATE: November 5

The construction fence was removed yesterday during the rain - and the new lot still looked good -

But the sun shined today and it looks so much better!

The parking area will open next week sometime. Striping of parking spaces and a few other odds and ends need to be finished before it opens. Comments from many residents have been positive throughout the process, and especially with the nearly-finished product. Here's some additional photos taken this morning:

UPDATE: October 31

The fence at the "new Town Lot" is expected to come down late this week or early next week! The crew has made great strides this week installing benches, grass and other plantings and most of the lights.

Still to come are parrking and directional signs, historic information signage and a few other odds and ends.

Be sure to check out the quick video at the end of the post!

These photos were taken late Thursday afternoon:

UPDATE: October 10

The project is really picking up steam and some interesting things are happening. The crew has been installing pavers along the Main Street side of the project since last week and it's really taking shape.

Later in the week, the trees will be delivered and planted.

Bollards separating the parking area from the pavers will be installed this week.

The plan right now is for the parking area to be paved on October 22.

UPDATE: September 30

Well, there hasn't been done this past week due to the rain. That has pushed things back a week.

Everything that was supposed to happen this week will now happen next week and some of those things include paver installation from the zig-zag line about mid-way on the lot to the Main Street curb.

The precast caps along the art pedestals, seat walls  and curbing will begin to be installed starting on Tuesday and installation of irrigation systems should begin soon. In the photo below, you should be able to see the color concrete band in the surrounding the center that was installed last week.
